WNBL FINAL SERIES 2009/10
The 2009/10 Final Series of the Women’s National Basketball League has featured some of the biggest names in Australian Women’s basketball including Jayco Opals Lauren Jackson, Liz Cambage, Kristi Harrower and Rohanee Cox. Dual Olympian Suzy Batkovic-Brown is in a race to return from a knee strain in time to take part in the series.
The Preliminary Final and Grand Final will be broadcast LIVE on ABC1 and WNBL Radio.
The Finalists:

2 - Sydney Uni Flames
3 - Canberra Capitals
4 - Townsville Fire
5 - Bendigo Spirit
The finals tipped off on Wednesday February 17th with the Elimination Final. The Townsville Fire hosted the Bendigo Spirit in a 4th versus 5th clash. Townsville prevailed 84-73.
In the Major Semi Final the Bulleen Boomers demolished the Sydney Uni Flames 72-55. Bulleen advanced straight to the Grand Final which they had won the right to play on their home court.
In the Minor Semi Final after a sloppy start from both teams the Canberra Capitals fired up to trounce Townsville 70-39 and win the right to challenge Sydney Uni for a Grand Final berth.
The Flames now host the Capitals in the Preliminary Final from 1.00pm Saturday February 27 AEDT.
The winner of the Preliminary Final advances to the Grand Final, where they will play Bulleen.
The Grand Final will be played at 1.00pm AEDT on Saturday March 6.
