Camino leads WNBL winners at SEABL awards

Dandenong Rangers Steph Cumming, Bendigo Spirit new recruit Renae Camino and Alice Kunek of the Bulleen Boomers were among the winners at the SEABL awards.

Bendigo Spirit fans will be grinning from ear-to-ear with new recruit Renae Camino entering the 2012/13 WNBL after the star guard swept the SEABL awards.

Relocating to Central Victoria from the Logan Thunder, Camino enjoyed a standout season for the Bendigo Lady Braves on her way to taking out the SEABL MVP award and named in the All SEABL Team.

Camino averaged 19 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists, giving fans a taste of what they can expect in the WNBL season ahead.

WNBL players dominated the SEABL awards, with AIS product and new Bulleen Boomers recruit Rebecca Allen named Youth Player of the Year on the back of 12 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2 steals per game season with the Nunawading Spectres.

A host of WNBL talented joined Camino in the All SEABL Team led by Spirit teammate Chantella Perera, Dandenong WNBL Championship star Steph Cumming and West Coast Waves new recruit Deanna Smith.

AIS graduate and Rangers new face Sara Blicavs showed why she is considered one of the brightest young stars in the WNBL, named in All SEABL Team after a memorable debut season with the Launceston Tornadoes, along with Logan Thunder’s USA import Lindsay Laur, Bulleen’s Alice Kunek, Bendigo Spirit’s Kelly Wilson and Townsville Fire Kiwi International Micaela Cocks.
