The 2012/13 WNBL season is only five weeks away with this campaign shaping as one of the most anticipated in recent memory.

Excitement levels are at an all-time high as four-time Olympian and WNBL great Lauren Jackson returns to Australian shores with the Canberra Capitals, hoping to return the league’s most successful franchise to title contention.

Jackson will be joined by no less than seven of her Jayco Australian Opals teammates from London, with the Adelaide Lightning sporting three of our Bronze Medal stars in reigning WNBL MVP Suzy Batkovic, Jenni Screen and Laura Hodges (nee Summerton).

Reigning WNBL Champion Dandenong has retained the services of their two Opals stars in Jenna O’Hea and Kath MacLeod, while the Bulleen Boomers will be hoping the emergence of Rachel Jarry on the international stage will propel them to greatness.

Over the coming weeks we take an in-depth look at the WNBL clubs ahead of the season tip-off on Friday October 5.
