The Canberra TransACT Capitals have signed Australian Opal and former WNBL MVP Natalie Porter on a short term contract to provide the team with some first class assistance, following the team’s two losses in their WNBL opening round.

Porter, who was taking a break from League duties, answered the call from Caps Coach Carrie Graf and will make her presence felt immediately, when she suits up against Townsville Fire tomorrow at the AIS.

“Nat is one of the most experienced players around and we’re lucky to have secured her to provide us with some heavy duty scoring and rebounding power. We wanted to add another big body into our mix, to work alongside Marianna Tolo and Carly Wilson inside the key,” Graf said of the signing.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early for game night action at the AIS Arena tomorrow. A great buy one, get one free ticket offer is available up until tip off and the Caps Celebrity match, featuring local media and business personalities is on from 5.45pm.
