The AIS have defeated the West Coast Waves 78-63 tonight in Alice Springs, claiming just their second win of the season.
The AIS shot 49 per cent from the field for the game, rebounding from a 15-19 quarter-time deficit to outscore the Waves in each of the next three quarters and claim the upset victory.
Ahead by just four points heading into the last term, the AIS broke away from the Waves to finish 15 points ahead.
Sara Blicavs led the way for the victors with a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds, connecting on nine of her 11 field goal attempts, to go along with five steals.
Olivia Thompson scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Mikhaela Donnelly added nine points and Carley Mijovic added eight points.
Waves captain Melissa Marsh top-scored for her team with 18 points, while Rohanee Cox added a double-double of 14 points and ten rebounds, to go along with five steals.
