In their first meeting of the season, the Bulleen Boomers have defeated the Townsville Fire, 92-75 tonight in Bulleen, collecting their tenth win of the season.
The home side never trailed after quarter time, and maintained a double figure lead from midway through the second term until the final buzzer.
Despite playing in less than 20 minutes of action, Bulleen centre Liz Cambage led all scorers with 22 points, connecting on eight of her 11 field goal attempts.
Rachel Jarry scored 14 points, while Tayla Roberts and Alice Kunek added 12 points apiece. Jo Leedham recorded a double-double of ten points and ten rebounds, while Sam Richards dished out eight assists.
Townsville import Shanavia Dowdell led the way for the visiting Fire with 17 points, to go along with eight rebounds. Jess Foley added 14 points, while Nadeen Payne and Micaela Cocks each added 12 points.
Townsville must quickly regroup to face ladder-leaders the Adelaide Lightning in Adelaide tomorrow evening.
