Seattle Storm WNBA player Ashley Robinson will join the Dandenong Jayco Rangers for the 2010/11 WNBL season.

Robinson is a current team mate of Abby Bishop and Lauren Jackson in the top women’s basketball league in the world, and her Seattle Storm are entering the WNBA Playoffs as hot favourites to lift the championship crown this season.

The signing of Robinson will be a key addition to the Jayco Rangers program, with the recent news that Ellie Manou will be unable to take her position within the program due to a serious knee injury. Ashley will be needed to replace Manou as a power player inside and provide the Rangers with a much needed inside presence at both ends of the court.

Ashley Robinson was a highly touted College basketball player when joining the powerful Tennessee program, where Ashley started in her very first game as a Lady Vol. Now into her 7th season in the WNBA and 5th as a Storm player, Robinson is regarded as a tenacious defender and rebounder while utilising her athletic 6’4 inch frame to trouble teams in transition and shot blocking.

Dandenong Jayco Rangers Head Coach Mark Wright is excited by the prospect of Robinson joining his Rangers line-up and he has been impressed by the player and the feedback he has received, particularly from Abby Bishop. Abby has assisted with the process of landing her Storm teammate to the Rangers program and all parties believe her addition could be the missing piece to the puzzle.
