Canberra dominates second half to beat Logan

The Canberra Capitals have outscored the Logan thunder by 30 points in the second half of their Saturday night, Round 16 clash to stream away to a 20-point win at AIS Arena, 99-79.

The game, which incorporated fundraising efforts for the Queensland Flood Relief appeal, started with a competitive first term, with Canberra ending the quarter up 25-20.

Logan held the Capitals to just 11 points in the second term and added 26 of their own, extending late in the quarter to take a half-time lead of 10-points.

But Canberra more than made up for it after half time, dropping an astonishing 37 points in the third term to Loganís 14 to go into the final term up by 13.

Canberra ran away with the game in the last quarter to secure the big win. The loss puts further pressure on the Thunder as they cling to fourth spot on the ladder a win clear of Dandenong and Sydney Uni.

For the Capitals, Marianna Tolo had an impressive 24-point outing. Jess Bibby chimed in with 18 points, while Suzy Batkovic added 16 points and nine boards.

For the Logan Thunder, Renae Camino and Cayla Francis both finished with 14 points each, while Kate McMeeken-Ruscoe had 13 points.
