The Adelaide Lightning have secured a home final and the minor premiership, beating the second-ranked Bulleen Boomers 71-58 at home.
Despite missing the services of veteran big Suzy Batkovic, the Lightning were impressive, holding the visitors to just 24 points in the second half, dropping 38 points themselves after half time to run away 13 point winners.
For the Lightning, Abby Bishop led all scorers, finishing with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Jo Hill added 19 points to the side's critical win.
For the Boomers, Rachael Jarry had 16 points, while centre Liz Cambage finshed with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
They game started as could have been predicted: a solid tussle, with neither team dominating the other. The Lightning slipped out to a handy seven point lead mid-term, with the Boomers pulling them back late to go into quarter time trailing by four points.
The Boomers then took control in the second period, behind Cambage and Jarry, not only swallowing Adelaide's lead, but sneaking out to a five point lead of their own, before the gap was again bridged just before half time.
From then on it was all Adelaide, the top side curbing the impact of Bulleen's big weapons, a combined effort offensively at the other end of the floor seeing the Lightning build a lead and a momentum that would see them close out the game, and the 13 point victory.
