THE Pancake Parlour Bulleen Boomers are thrilled to announce the final addition to their roster for the 2012-13 WNBL season with the return of league MVP Hollie Florance.
Florance, nee Grima, will hit the court this season after giving birth to daughter Emerson in March.
The 28-year-old spent four seasons playing for Aix-en-Provence in Europe before arriving back in Melbourne last year to start a family with husband Dave.
The 190cm star centre, who was competition MVP in season 2006-07 while playing for Bulleen, won a silver medal with the Opals at the Beijing Olympics.
Florance was also part of the gold-medal winning Australian team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and world championships.
She has played two games with Eltham and will play out the Big V season in the lead-up to Bulleen pre-season training.
Florance is the final touch on an impressive new-look Boomers line-up.
She joins other returning players in ex-Boomers Emma Randall, Logan, and Elyse Penaluna, who is recovering from knee surgery.
Tess Madgen, Bendigo, is another key in while AIS graduates Rebecca Allen and Rebecca Cole are valuable additions.
Co-captain and reigning all-star six member Rachel Jarry, rising star Alice Kunek and the improving Kerryn Harrington are among Boomers who will return to the Veneto Club for the upcoming campaign.
Coach Tom Maher and his talented assistants have put together a roster with a healthy mix of experience and youth, as the Boomers look to go one step further after losing the grand final to Dandenong.
With veteran guard Sam Richards the only player older than 24 years of age last season, Grima, Randall and Penaluna not only bump up the average age of the Boomers but add invaluable international experience.
The club is excited about the continued development of Jarry, Kunek, Madgen and Harrington, while promising talent Allen and Cole will be beneficiaries of Bulleen's program.
Bulleen has played in the past four grand finals for one championship, 2010-11, but will be eager to make it two from five this season.
