The West Coast Waves will return to Alice Springs for a few games in the upcoming season.

The Northern Territory Government has partnered with the WNBL West Coast Waves to bring the Waves back to Alice Springs for three home games for the upcoming 2012-2014 season.

The Waves last visited Alice Springs in 2011, playing in front of hundreds of fans.

"The WNBL is one of the strongest competitions outside of the US and local fans will be in for a treat with some of Australia's best in action," Karl Hampton, the Northern Territory's Minister for Sport and Recreation said.

Hampton went on to discuss the impact outside of basketball.

"The West Coast Waves are great role models for our young girls and boys, who deliver an important message about healthy lifestyles throughout the community. Future games will also see the West Coast Waves conducting more junior coaching clinics as well as visiting the hospital, schools, and communities."
