Off season proves a busy time for Southern Design Sydney Uni Flames players with continued involvement in the local community.
Ellie Manou & Sarah Graham gave a helping hand to the Pink Ball “Girls Only Program” at Bankstown Basketball Association recently sharing their knowledge of the game with U12 girls invited from schools in the local area.
The 7 week program targets children who have never played before with the plan to progress the players into the local competition and representative programs and to increase participation levels at grassroots.
Alicia Poto, Jaimee Kennedy and new Flames recruit Taylor Roberts were guests of the Hornsby Basketball Associations presentation day where they presented awards to players from the 2012 representative season.
“It was great to be a part of this fun day where the kids get together to celebrate the end to another rep season and to share in the recognition of player awards for all the teams” said Flames stalwart Alicia Poto.
“Hornsby Basketball Association have been a longstanding Individual Player Sponsor of the Sydney Uni Flames for a number of years, so it’s a way for us to show our appreciation of their support through their junior program”
