Dandenong Rangers put a winning shine on a tough weekend, defeating Logan Thunder 78-66 in the final day of action at the WNBL Pre Season Tournament at Dandenong Stadium.
BOXSCORE
Coming off defeats to Adelaide and Canberra, the Rangers came away with something to show from the weekend as Kath Macleod, Tegan Cunningham, Krista Phillips and Sara Blicavs all enjoyed double-digit offensive performances.
The win, while far from convincing, gave fans an insight into the immense talent of the super-athletic Blicavs, who finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Cunningham had 14 points and 12 rebounds.
For Logan Emma Langford was again a standout, finishing the game with 17 points, while import Lindsay Laur had 13 points to go with her 8 rebounds.
What we learnt
Don’t read too much into it: The Rangers may have struggled in the WNBL Pre Season Tournament, but they will still be a favourite for the title proper.
Hard to replace starters: Considering the Thunder have lost four of their starters from last season they haven’t been as bad as their results suggest. Still plenty to do
