The Geelong Venom announced on Thursday that guard Indiah Bowyer has committed to the club for the WNBL27 season.
The 23-year-old Cairns product, who played with the Southside Melbourne Flyers last season, joins the Venom’s revamped roster under new Head Coach Cheryl Chambers.
"We are genuinely thrilled to have Indi on board,” Chambers said.
“What she brings goes well beyond what you see on the stat sheet. She’s a fierce competitor and someone who makes everyone around her better.
"She has shown she can perform at this level, and I have no doubt she will be an important part of what we’re building here in Geelong.
“We can't wait to get to work.”
Bowyer, who has also played with Sydney and Townsville, joins a roster that features Maddy Rocci, Bec Cole, Alex Sharp and Lilly Rotunno.
"It's an amazing opportunity to grow alongside the girls and Cheryl over the season, and I'm excited about what we can build together,” Bowyer said.
"That experience [with her previous WNBL stops] taught me exactly what areas of my game I need to develop to compete at this level.
"That high standard really rubs off on you, and I'm coming here wanting to be a sponge - to develop, to be reliable and consistent, and to be whatever the team and Cheryl need me to be."
Bowyer and her team will compete in the Townsville Tip Off from September 17-20.
