Venom receive massive injury boost

The Geelong Venom have received a massive boost on the eve of their blockbuster clash with reigning champions Townsville.

Star Maddy Rocci has overcome a foot injury and has been cleared to make her return to the hardwood.

The Opal, who claimed the TechnologyOne Townsville Tip Off Tiana Mangakahia MVP award, has been sidelined since the Venom’s Round 1 fixture with Tasmania.

Since then, the Venom have defeated Southside Melbourne and Bendigo, while also losing to Canberra, to sit in sixth with a 2-2 record.

This leaves just Bec Cole on the sidelines for Cheryl Chambers’ side heading into Round 4.

Thursday’s fixture at Microkeeper Arena tips off at 7pm AEDT, live on 9Now and ESPN via Disney+.
