Talking points

Star imports hit the ground running

Leading the way for Adelaide in their opening game, Shay Ciezki impressed with 17 points, 3 assists and 2 steals against the Sydney Flames and will look to carry her momentum over into Tuesday night as the Lightning aim to avoid another big defeat.

Meanwhile, for the Fire, Marie Gülich could be shaping as an early contender for the Sixth Woman of the Year award with 23 points and 10 rebounds off the bench in a star-studded Townsville roster.

It’ll be a tough starting lineup to crack, but Gülich’s start has been strong.

Fire looking to bounce back

The Townsville Fire would have expected to come away from the Championship Series rematch with a win; however, it wasn’t to be as the Lynx claimed a narrow victory at the Perth High Performance Centre.

Shannon Seebohm did not shy away from his side’s deficiencies in his post-match press conference on Saturday, and will be eager to claim a maiden win for WNBL27.
