Talking points

Southside youngsters shine

With a few big injuries affecting the Southside Melbourne Flyers roster early, their youngsters had no choice but to step up to the plate against the Sydney Flames.

The likes of Tess Heal, Lucy Cochrane, and Madi Ryan were all excellent despite the loss, putting up a fight until the very last minute against a star-studded Flames lineup.

The injury toll remains at the Flyers, and those rising stars will need to contribute again, but if they play the way they did last Friday night, they're a big chance to give the JackJumpers a scare in this contest.

Tasmania looking to back up inaugural victory

The Tasmania Jewels were remarkable as they cruised to victory against the Geelong Venom, and have fast become a fan-favourite team in the early stages of the WNBL27 Season.

Their veterans were on fire, their youngsters impressed, and while they will be without Keely Froling and Taylor Mole this time around, WNBL23 Champion Mikaela Ruef will come in and provide plenty of extra experience for this lineup as they aim to take a second-consecutive win and keep their fast start going.
