Talking points

Flames add Wilson after hot start

The Sydney Flames are 2-0 to start the WNBL27 Season, with wins over Southside Melbourne and Adelaide in Round 1.

With a star-studded lineup at their disposal already, the addition of the returning Opal Ally Wilson will further strengthen their stocks heading into their battle with the Capitals.

Wilson, alongside in-form stars Lauren Nicholson, Issie Bourne and Jaz Shelley, will be a tough lineup for the Capitals to stop now that they are at full strength.

'Splashwell' has the keys to Canberra

The new-look UC Capitals got off to a fast start in Round 1, starting their season on a high with a win over the Bendigo Spirit.

Amy Atwell was at the centre of everything for the side, dropping 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and will look to carry that momentum into Round 2.

The Capitals’ star will likely be the focus of her side’s offence once again, and will be crucial if they are any chance of picking up the win against the Flames.
