Injury blow for Venom star

The Geelong Venom have been dealt a major blow, with superstar Maddy Rocci suffering a foot injury that will keep her sidelined for Saturday's game against her former side, the Southside Melbourne Flyers.

This comes following the news that Rocci's backcourt partner Bec Cole will also be missing due to a left leg injury.

Rocci has been in superb touch since arriving at Geelong, taking out the Tiana Mangakahia MVP Award at the TechnologyOne Townsville Tip Off before pouring in 33 points in the WNBL27 Season opener against Tasmania.

The guard's injury will be reassessed by club medical staff in the coming weeks.

She will be replaced in the lineup by Development Player Jasmine King.
