The Bendigo Spirit announced on Friday that emerging forward Olivia Pollerd has signed a new two-year contract, which will keep her at the club until the end of WNBL28.
This multi-year deal sees Pollerd join WNBL26 MVP Izzy Borlase, Kelsey Rees and Casey Samuels as players contracted to the Spirit ahead of WNBL27.
“I’ve loved my first season with the Spirit - the team, the coaches and the whole Bendigo community have made it feel like home,” Pollerd said.
“I’m really happy to be staying for at least the next two years.
“I want to keep developing my game, keep contributing to the club, and competing alongside this group. I can’t wait for what’s ahead.”
During her debut WNBL season, Victoria junior Pollerd showed continued growth and quickly became a vital part of the team’s rotation.
In her 25 appearances for the Spirit during the 2025-26 campaign, the 23-year-old averaged 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
Her ability to impact the game through rebounding, floor spacing and disciplined defensive play is why the club see the Santa Clara Broncos alum as an important part of the Spirit’s long-term system.
“Polly has taken enormous strides this season and has shown exactly why she’s considered one of the best young forwards in the country,” Spirit General Manager Dan Jackson said.
“Her professionalism, her willingness to learn and the impact she’s already having on our group made this an easy decision.
“We’re thrilled she’s committed to the next chapter with us, and we know she’s only just scratching the surface of what she can become.”
Pollerd has also committed to remaining in Bendigo over the off-season, signing with the Bendigo Braves in the NBL1 South competition.
