On the back of her incredible first season in the WNBL, Chinese sensation Han Xu appears set to return to the Australian-based competition for the 2026-27 campaign.
According to CODE Sports’ Mick Randall, the Chinese centre, who dominated for the Perth Lynx in her maiden WNBL season, is set to pen a deal with the Geelong Venom.
The 211-centimetre star, who is currently playing with the New York Liberty in the WNBA, averaged 16.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks across her 18 games for the Lynx last season, helping them reach the Grand Final Series.
Han would join a revamped Venom roster that also includes Maddy Rocci, Alex Sharp, Bec Cole, Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard, Dakota Cricton, Lilly Rotunno and Indiah Bowyer, who have all committed to the club.
Randall reports that the Venom were one of four teams to have enquired about Han’s signature for WNBL27.
The Venom open the 2026-27 campaign at MyState Bank Arena against the Tasmania Jewels on October 15.
