A big few months of hoops loom for Far North Queensland, headlined by the second annual TechnologyOne Townsville Tip-Off.
That pre-season tournament will bring all nine teams to Far North Queensland for a celebration of hoops before the WNBL27 season begins.
Before the September 17-20 event at Townsville Stadium, this weekend will see two exciting SheHoops camps hosted in Cairns.
These camps, led by Australian Opals trio Cayla George, Courtney Woods and Alex Fowler, will give the region's rising stars a chance to learn from some of the country's best.
The clinics at the Cairns Basketball Association are part of the lead-up to the Townsville Tip-Off, with all participants to receive discounted ticket codes and free entry for children.
"We're excited to get up to Cairns to deliver these community clinics," Head of Women in Basketball Nikita Vogel said to the Cairns Post.
"We know that North Queensland has some incredible basketball talent and we invite everyone to come and join us. Whether you're new to basketball or have been playing for years, these sessions will support your skills and confidence.
"Ahead of the World Cup in September, basketball fever is on the way, and this is a chance for the Cairns community to be a part of it."
The first of the day's sessions will run from 9am to 12pm, before an afternoon clinic from 2-4pm.

These two will be followed by events in Townsville (August 28 and 30) and Burdekin (August).
