Flyers unveil new import centre

Just days after parting ways with Sakima Walker, the Southside Melbourne Flyers have added another import to their squad.

On Wednesday, the club announced the commitment of Unique Thompson for the WNBL27 Season.

The American last played for the Sydney Flames in 2025-26, where she averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds and 1.4 steals across her 21 games.

CODE Sports first reported Thompson's addition to the club, where the 27-year-old said “I am very excited [to come to Melbourne].”

Thompson is in the mix to make her Flyers debut on Sunday when Sam Mackinnon’s side travel to Afterpay Arena to face the Sydney Flames.
