Geelong Venom star Mackenzie Holmes came to Australia for two reasons, to improve as a player and win basketball games.
To date, she's doing both after producing a Player of the Match performance (33 points and 6 rebounds) in Geelong's first win of the WNBL26 season against Adelaide on Saturday.
Now Holmes, who dealt with adversity earlier in the year due to knee surgery, will look to build on that victory and continue the Venom's push towards finals during Tuesday's first road game of the campaign against Bendigo.
"I came to Geelong to not only, you know, grow as a basketball player, but to win,” Holmes said to CODE Sports.
“And I believe that (coach) Chris [Lucas] is building something really special here, and I trusted in that when I came over here.
“So it’s going to be a fun season, just to continue to grow and learn together.”
Tuesday's fixture at Red Energy Arena, broadcast live on ESPN and 9Now, will wrap the weekend's exciting Round 2.
Tickets to the 7pm AEDT clash are still available here.
