UC Capitals’ recruit Sara Blicavs is on the verge of her long-awaited WNBL return, following intensive back surgery that left her barely able to walk a year and a half ago.

After labelling her back 'even stronger' than before, Blicavs, who called the Caps 'the most professional WNBL team I’ve ever been a part of', can't wait to hit the John Cain Arena court on Saturday against the Southside Melbourne Flyers and tip-off what she hopes in a championship-winning season.

“We know that we can make finals and that if we play our best, we’ll win the championship, and everyone seems to be on the same page,” Blicavs said to CODE Sports.

“At the moment we’re just taking it day by day, building on our chemistry which is great to begin with.

“This is probably one of the most unified teams I’ve ever been a part of."

Blicavs, who has previous played for Dandenong, Bendigo, Southside and Melbourne in the WNBL, will make her UC debut from 2pm AEDT Saturday.

Tickets to the John Cain Arena clash, which will also be broadcast live on ESPN and 9GO!, are available here.
