Flames release star import Berger

The Sydney Flames announced on Friday the mutual release of star import Grace Berger for the WNBL26 season.

Berger, who signed with the harbour city club in June, suffered an injury with the Dallas Wings during the 2025 WNBA season, which will prevent her from playing in the 2025-26 WNBL campaign.

"Grace will remain in the United States to focus on her recovery, and we wish her all the best," the Flames said via a club statement.

"The club is focused on signing an import replacement immediately."

During Saturday's Round 1 fixture at Geelong, Issy Morgan will replace Berger in the lineup, while Maddy Norris has also been elevated to the active roster in place of Emma Clarke.
