Over the past two seasons in Perth, Miela Sowah established herself as one of the WNBL's most explosive guards.

Now Sowah, who made a high-profile return to Townsville in the off-season, is planning the demise of the Lynx, who she helped reach two finals series.

Tuesday's Round 3 showdown at the Perth High Performance Centre will mark the Duke alum's first against her former side.

"It [being back in Perth] feels a bit different now, being on the opposition, but we’ve had some really good trainings [in Perth]," Sowah said to CODE Sports.

"We’re definitely keen to get into the game, it’s always a good game this matchup.”

As Sowah, who is averaging 13 points and two assists per game in WNBL26, alludes to, these two rivals have locked horns the past two semi-final series, with the Fire prevailing last season.

While it's only early, both teams appear in the mix for post-season hoops once again, with the Lynx currently 3-0 on the season and the Fire 2-1, after dropping their most recent game to Southside Melbourne.

“I think being relentless on the defensive end is really what we took away from our loss to the Flyers,” Australian Opal Sowah said.

“It’s about playing for the full 40 minutes. I think we have to limit the lapses – there’ll be momentum runs from both teams but it’s important for us to come out strong in each quarter.”

Tuesday's fixture tips off at 9pm AEDT, live on ESPN and 9Now.

Tickets to the clash at the Perth High Performance Centre are still available here.
