The Australian Gems, headlined by three WNBL rising stars, have qualified for the Final at the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup.
In Friday’s Semi-Final, Bendigo’s Olivia Olechnowicz, Townsville’s Cheyenne Bobongie, Adelaide’s Aspen Crase and their Gems outlasted China 79-58.
The win, which keeps their unbeaten tournament run alive, was set up by a 31-9 first quarter in Malaysia.
Olechnowicz was again one of the standouts, adding 14 points and 5 dimes in the victory.
The trio’s Gems now play Japan in the Final, after the latter defeated Korea 80-43 in Friday’s other Semi-Final.
