The Bendigo Spirit announced on Friday the commitment of five-time WNBL champion and the League's all-time games record holder, Kelly Wilson, to the club for the upcoming 2026-27 season, pending League approval.
One of the most decorated and durable players in Australian basketball history, Wilson is now set to embark on her 23rd WNBL season.
Wilson, who became the first player in League history to surpass 450 games in 2024, said she was motivated by the opportunity to help the Spirit continue building on its success.
"I still love competing, and I still love being part of a team," Wilson said.
"The Spirit has been such a significant part of my basketball journey, and it's a place that means a lot to me.
"The club has been building something special over the past few seasons and obviously won the championship in 2025, and there's still plenty that excites me about this group.
"I'm looking forward to getting back to practice, continuing to contribute however I can, and helping the team compete for another championship."
Spirit General Manager, Dan Jackson, said Wilson's re-signing was an important signature for the club's WNBL27 roster.
"Kelly's impact on our club cannot be overstated," Jackson said.
"She's a champion in every sense of the word.
"Her achievements speak for themselves, but it's her professionalism, competitiveness and willingness to put the team first that make her such a valuable part of our program.
"To have someone with more than 450 WNBL games, five championships and the respect of everyone in Australian basketball choosing to continue her journey with the Spirit is incredibly exciting for our club and community."
Wilson joins Georgia Booth, Izzy Borlase, Kelsey Griffin, Jade Melbourne, Olivia Pollerd, Kelsey Rees, Casey Samuels and Abbey Wehrung as players committed to the Spirit for the WNBL27 season.
