Rising stars lead Aussies' World Cup tilt

WNBL duo Tayla Brazel and Catelyn Van Es headline the Gangurrus' FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup campaign in China.

The Australian Gangurrus tip off their 2026 FIBA 3x3 Under 23s World Cup campaign on Tuesday AEST, with two WNBL stars headlining the squad.
Adelaide's Tayla Brazel and Townsville's Catelyn Van Es will lead the green and gold's chances in China for the September 15-19 tournament.
Rounding out the women's squad are former Sydney Flame Carla Pitman and former Centre of Excellence talent Sophie Taylor.
The Gangurrus tip off their World Cup against Japan at 5.25pm AEST, before a fixture with Kenya late that day (10pm).
Their final two pool matches are on Friday against Slovenia (7.30pm) and the United States (10.25pm).
The men's team features Devan Craig, Keegan Phillips, Griffin Bower and Will Mahoney and will play Poland, France, Kenya and Algeria in the group stage.
All matches will be streamed live on the FIBA 3X3 YouTube channel.

- Australia v Japan - Tuesday, September 15 - 5.25pm AEST
- Australia v Kenya - Tuesday, September 15 - 10pm AEST
- Australia v Slovenia - Friday, September 17 - 7.30pm AEST
- Australia v United States - Friday, September 17 - 10.25pm AEST
