WNBL stars impressing during WNBA Playoffs

A host of the WNBL's stars have featured for their respective WNBA teams in Game 1 of their Playoff Series.

The 2026 WNBA Playoffs tipped off on Monday AEST, and the WNBL has a host of stars shining for their respective teams.
In Minneapolis, the New York Liberty defeated the Lynx 91-75 to go up 1-0 in their best-of-three series.
In the win, Geelong's Han Xu had 5 points (including 1 triple), 2 blocks, 1 rebound and 1 steal, while Perth's Anneli Maley added 1 board.
Australia's Bec Allen also featured for the Liberty off the bench.
For the Lynx, former Perth star Courtney Williams produced 9 points and 5 dimes, Opal Chloe Bibby contributed 5 points, while former Perth Lynx guard Aari McDonald supplied 1 rebound and 1 dime.
Game 2 of this series is on Wednesday at 10.30am AEST.
In Las Vegas, Adelaide's Steph Talbot put up 8 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 block as the Aces downed Indiana 102-85.
In the win, former Perth stars Jackie Young put up 21 points and 10 assists and Brianna Turner added 2 boards, while Sophie Cunningham, who played with the Melbourne Boomers in WNBL20, scored 13 points for the Fever.
WNBL20 Grand Final MVP Mercedes Russell added 1 rebound and 1 assist for Indiana.
Game 2 tips off at 8.30am on Wednesday in Indianapolis.
In Atlanta, the Dream outlasted the Washington Mystics 92-77, with Bendigo's Izzy Borlase and Tasmania's Madina Okot both playing minutes off the bench.
WNBL24 MVP Jordin Canada had 10 points and 10 dimes for the Dream, while former Boomers/Flyers centre Naz Hillmon produced 4 points and 3 boards in the victory.
For the Mystics, Perth star Georgia Amoore tallied 8 points, 4 boards and 3 dimes, while WNBL25 champion and former Townsville sharpshooter Lucy Olsen didn't hit the hardwood, as former WNBL import Betnijah Laney-Hamilton hit 1 triple in the defeat.
Washington hosts Atlanta at 9am AEST on Thursday for Game 2.
Finally, in Golden State, the Valkyries, featuring Townsville's Miela Sowah, easily accounted for the Dallas Wings, who were without Opal Alanna Smith (injured).
In the triumph, former Flyer Kayla Thornton and former Spirit star Veronica Burton both had 10 points, as former Geelong talent Haley Jones collected 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block for the Wings.
Former Lynx big Laeticia Amihere also grabbed one rebound for the Valkyries, who will look to sweep the series from 11am Thursday AEST.
