The WNBL launched this season's Indigenous Round with students from the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) on Wednesday.

The students, who wore each of the eight WNBL Indigenous Round jerseys, were joined by the competition's Indigenous artist Kirby Bentley on the day, with the latter also showcasing the design for the 2025-26 season for the first time.

This artwork tells the story of the players and the game. The three layers of colours, light purple, teal and dark purple, represent the past, present, and future of every club's journey.

The flowing shapes reflect the Country lands and also what we know as the cities where the games will be played. The animals from water, land, and sky stand as protectors, watching over everyone throughout the season.

The kangaroo footprints symbolise each player leaving their mark across the game this season, creating a path for future generations. The meeting places in teal represent each club’s home court where teams come together to play, compete, and connect.

Welcome to the WNBL.

WNBL26's Indigenous Round tips off on Friday night, when Sydney hosts Southside Melbourne from 7pm AEDT at Quaycentre, live on ESPN2 and 9Now.

Tickets to the Flames' first home game of the season are still available here.
