On the back of the WNBL growing to nine teams, thanks to the addition of the Tasmania Jewels, the League is thrilled to unveil a new, exciting Finals format.

During the WNBL27 season, five teams will feature in the post-season, replacing the long-standing four-team format.

Under this new format, the top three teams on the ladder will progress straight to the Semi-Finals, while fourth and fifth will battle it out for the last spot in the Eliminator Finals (hosted by the higher-ranked team).

The winner of that game will play first in a three-game Semi-Final Series, while second will take on third in the other Semi-Final series.

The two victorious teams from their respective Semi-Final Series will progress to play in the prestigious Championship Series, which will be played across three matches.

The WNBL27 Season will tip off on October 15 with the Jewels’ historic first game, hosting the Geelong Venom at MyState Bank Arena.
