The Townsville Fire announced on Friday that Australian Gangurrus 3x3 star Emma Clarke has joined the club for WNBL27.
Clarke arrives in Townsville following five seasons in the WNBL across the Perth Lynx, Sydney Flames and most recently the Bendigo Spirit.
“I’m very grateful to be joining such a respected and successful organisation, and it’s an incredibly exciting opportunity,” Clarke said.
“Shannon has built a strong culture within the program, and I’m really looking forward to continuing to develop my game.
“I’m excited to compete at a high level and contribute to winning basketball this season alongside such a great group of girls.”
Townsville Fire Head Coach Shannon Seebohm said 26-year-old Clarke’s versatility and upside made her an exciting addition to the roster.
“We’re excited to welcome Emma to the Fire,” Seebohm said.
“She’s a versatile and athletic wing who we believe will make an impact on both ends of the floor with her energy, competitiveness and ability to play multiple positions.
“Emma is someone who still has a lot of untapped potential, and we’re looking forward to helping her grow within our program.”
Clarke will join WNBL26 championship winners Courtney Woods, Abbey Ellis, Alicia Froling, Miela Sowah, Alex Fowler and Chloe Forster on the Fire roster for next season.
