Aussie Watch: Amoore where that came from

On the day she was announced as a Perth Lynx player, Georgia Amoore produced her best WNBA game to date.

Playing for the Washington Mystics, Amoore tallied a career-high 25 points (including 6 triples), on 9-16 shooting from the field.

16 of those points (on 6-6 shooting) came in the fourth term, marking the highest scoring quarter by a Mystics player since Brittney Sykes on June 8, 2025.

The Ballarat-born guard combined that scoring output with 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in the Mystics' 80-73 win over Phoenix.

Ironically, the career night came against Sami Whitcomb, the player Amoore is replacing at the Lynx after a knee injury ruled her out of the WNBL27 season.

Whitcomb managed just 3 points for Phoenix, while Mercury teammate and Adelaide Lightning signing Maddy Westbeld chipped in 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal off the bench.

In the day's other game, Miela Sowah, recently called up to the Opals' World Cupsquad to replace Whitcomb, grabbed 1 rebound in Golden State's 79-60 win over New York.

In the defeat, both Australian Bec Allen (5 points and 3 rebounds) and Geelong Venom star Han Xu (1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 block) played for the Liberty.
