The Geelong Venom will receive a boost when they travel Ballarat's Selkirk Stadium to face the Bendigo Spirit.
That is because injury replacement player Georgia Woolley is set to make her club and league debut.
Ahead of the Round 8 fixture, the University of Syracuse alum explained how excited she is to contribute to Geelong's success in WNBL26.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity. Being an Australian you watch the WNBL on the TV, and are like, ‘I want to play in that one day’," Woolley said to CODE Sports.
“It’s not an ideal situation for the team losing a very key player, I’m aware of that, so I just want to come in and continue to help them build on what they’ve built and win some games."
"The WNBL is a super talented league, and it’s a lot different playing style [to college)] it’s a lot more physical, it’s faster, just excited for that opportunity to help expand and grow my game against some of the best players."
Friday's fixture, between the 3-6 Venom and 7-2 Spirit, tips off at 5.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN2 and 9Now.
Tickets are still available here.
