Talking points

Is Steph Reid the barometer?

The Tasmania Jewels have several stars at their disposal in WNBL27, but perhaps none are more important than Steph Reid.

When Reid is on, the entire roster comes along for the ride with her, and that is something that Alice Kunek said could give the Jewels an edge in their battle with the Flames on the latest episode of The Loop, presented by Blackmores.

The Flames have been tough to stop so far, but if Reid can rise to the occasion, the Jewels will always be a chance at snatching a win.

Can Sydney keep their streak alive?

Sydney head to the island with their best start since the 2011-12 Season, but a sold-out Tasmanian crowd is one of the League’s toughest tests.

Jaz Shelley, Lauren Nicholson, and Issie Bourne have driven the Flames’ charge, as they regain Ally Wilson and head into the game at full strength.

The Flames' stacked roster is tough to beat, but if the Jewels can slow the tempo and get the game on their terms, a Sydney win is no sure bet.
