The Perth Lynx announced on Thursday that Teige Morrell has committed to the club for the upcoming WNBL27 season, subject to League review and approval.
A familiar face to Lynx fans, Morrell returns to Perth after spending the 2025-26 season with the UC Capitals, where she averaged 5.09 points and 4.09 rebounds per game.
The 191cm forward, who previously suited up for the Lynx across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, first arrived in Australia from the United States in 2019.
During that time, she has built impressive résumés across both the WNBL and NBL1 competitions, including being named back-to-back West MVP honours in 2024 and 2025 in the latter.
“Perth has become such a special place for me and my family, both on and off the court, so to come back to the Lynx means a lot,” Morrell said.
“I’ve loved being part of this club previously and I’m excited to return, reconnect with the group and contribute however I can to help the team succeed.”
Perth Lynx General Manager, Chris Earl, said Morrell’s return was an exciting addition for the club.
“Teige is someone who already understands our program and what it means to represent the Lynx,” Earl said.
“She brings size, competitiveness and a team-first mindset, and her experience both in the WNBL and NBL1 has been outstanding.
“We’re really pleased to welcome her back to Perth and believe she’ll play an important role for us this season.”
Morrell joins Sami Whitcomb, Anneli Maley, Alex Ciabattoni, Steph Gorman and Nya Lok as players already locked into the Lynx roster for the WNBL27 season.
