WNBL26 Breakout Player of the Year Dallas Loughridge is set to depart the Adelaide Lightning to explore collegiate opportunities.
After a career-best season with the Lightning, the 22-year-old guard will take on a new challenge with Michigan University.
As a future Opals contender, Loughridge will test her skills against the best players in her age bracket in the NCAA.
The NCAA has seen the likes of Georgia Amoore and Charlise Dunn emerging from Australian role players to college stars and now WNBA draft picks.
Adelaide Lightning Head Coach Aja Parham-Ammar said the club and fans will miss their star point guard.
“We recognise that Dallas has been presented with an incredible opportunity that aligns with her career aspirations. She will be greatly missed,” Parham-Ammar said.
"I enjoyed watching her grow as a leader last season, and we are looking forward to working together again soon. We wish her luck as she embarks on her journey to the States, leaving with our full support.”
