The countdown is on: 100 days until HoopsFest Perth

The countdown is officially on, with just 100 days until HoopsFest, presented by Virgin Australia, returns to Western Australia.

The basketball, culture and lifestyle festival will take over Perth from January 13–17, as every NBL and WNBL team makes the trip west for five days of basketball, entertainment and fan experiences.

RAC Arena will play host to 10 NBL and WNBL games, tipping off with a double-header on Wednesday, January 13.

The Perth Lynx will open the festival against the Townsville Fire before Melbourne United meets the Cairns Taipans, setting the tone for a week that brings some of the biggest names in Australian basketball to the west.

Thursday sees the Sydney Flames face the Southside Melbourne Flyers before the Sydney Kings and South East Melbourne Phoenix go head-to-head.

Then it's the Wildcats' turn, with Perth taking on the New Zealand Breakers on Friday night, following the Adelaide Lightning's clash with the UC Capitals.

Saturday brings a Tasmanian double, with the Tasmania Jewels facing Geelong Venom before the Tasmania JackJumpers take on the Adelaide 36ers.

And when Sunday rolls around, the Bendigo Spirit will meet the Perth Lynx before the Brisbane Bullets and Illawarra Hawks bring the on-court action to a close.

HoopsFest is building on a record-breaking 2026 event, which attracted more than 35,500 fans, a 25 per cent increase year-on-year.

And there will be plenty happening away from the court, too.

Community clinics, grassroots activations, open training sessions and the free Bounce Nation Fan Zone will once again bring the festival beyond RAC Arena and into the wider Perth community.

With HoopsFest taking place during the January school holidays, fans can also turn their trip west into a summer basketball getaway.
In just 100 days, basketball heads west.
